Wa-shing-ton, here I… am
UpdatesI’ve left Indiana once more!
Slid in gracefully to Sea-Tac last Saturday. I was antsy as crap to get balls rolling, so the very next day my sister and I headed to Seattle to get a new bike and apparently some clothes. I also had an iPhone in mind but found out they’re sold out EVERYWHERE. I’m not sure if I’d quite call it “sold out”, since AT&T doesn’t even seem to be trying to keep them in stock.
In order to get one now, you have to show up to a store in person, order it (giving them your cc info… I guess so you won’t sneak off, leaving them oh but no one to sell this useless iPhone to), go back to your house and wait till they feel like shipping it from what has to be a giant vault brimming with iPhones somewhere in a bunker below Area 51 (it took mine over a week to drag its ass there). Then they call you and let you know you can come in and drop a big nut on a two year contract. All of this has to be done in person. You can’t call an order in or have anything mailed to you. I couldn’t even order one in Seattle to have it sent to nearer-by Silverdale. I had to go to the Silverdale store and order it. Then go all the way back there later to pick it up. Thanks, AT&T, for making me feel like my time is valuable!
I biked the trip to go pick it up. It was a little over an hour each way, which isn’t bad. It’s the hills that murder. But I made it. I’ve been cycling like crazy this past week and a half - to and from soccer, up hills, down hills, on errends, day and night. I need to get clip pedals because I’m sure I’m overdeveloping the backs of my legs.
Soccer is also going funly. My right foot exploded in crazy blisters. I think that hole in the bottom of my foot from Australia is finally gone for good. Fell off a couple days ago.
I met up with a band I was talking to for a couple weeks called Rowan. Things went well with some cool dudes. We now have a show early next month which we’re scrambling to prepare for. Gotta write a couple more songs. Doing a couple covers to flesh things out. I’m excited!
Still working on finding something I can live in.
Did you see the Olympic opening ceremony? Holy shit! That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever watched! When the lights went out on those drummers with their big glow sticks, my mind exploded. It’s a good thing none of the performers had epilepsy. The parade of nations was boring though. Even fast-forwarding through it was boring. In fact, saying all those countries’ names in a list would be boring. We gotta find a way to jazz that up next time. How about we gather up all the sprinters and have them race to a guy who will scream out their nationality as soon as they cross the finish. Brief + hilarious + cluster eff = international upheaval = success.

Apple are being wanks about the iPhones. They are restricting stock and allocating the orders to their best accounts. It’s the same here in Australia.
